FixedSys is still the font used in MS Notepad, which I still use to make ASCII art. It is my favourite font for ASCII art, making or showing it. Possibly it’s just that I’ve become used to it. But, it does seem just right.
FixedSys doesn’t come with many (any?) font packages, like the Google fonts.… Read the rest
Although you can find her site on the Internet Archives/ Wayback Machine, it’s abandoned by Joan herself. I’ve cut and pasted the site, part by part, so I can preserve the art and the information.
When you feel really backwards and out of sorts with yourself, its a good time to look for how-to guides for things you think you already know how to do. Or, to take your own advice and just do something differently.

I should be working on ASCII art ideas. I’d feel less down but… its hard to start. I made the mistake of looking at other ASCII art, comparing my own abilities and projects. That tends to be good and bad. I read about Frisson Comics on the Broken Pencil website this week. They are looking for submissions/ contributions for a folk horror zine. Thinking of the SciArt being posted to Twitter this week. I wanted more to post myself. So I got thinking about everyday measuring, the sort we do when baking a cake, bread and so on. So I made this ASCII art with a rolling pin, eggs, measuring cup, bag of flour, and a mixing bowl.
This Mohawk Church (sometimes called a chapel) is located in Ontario. It is the oldest, still standing, church in Ontario. People can visit the church but are not allowed to take photographs without written permission. I found photographs of the church online. My Mother’s birthday is coming up so I made a flower. This isn’t the one I’m giving her. A bouquet of real flowers will be delivered for her.
Intended to be reposted to a game or some kind of site. Garden, fantasy, and holiday themed text art. Most of these are kind of messed up and none are traditional ASCII art.
