I had planned to make a wreath of maple leaves for Canada Day this year. But, it is not taking shape quickly enough. On the plus side, I have a head start on it for next Canada Day. The images are close to the order I made them in. The last new Canada Day themed art I made was the row of maple leaves at the end of the post.
An ASCII art based on the logo forĀ HI Hostels Canada. I like the bottom one better. The top I tried to make more like the actual logo. I stayed at hostels in Winnipeg, Regina and Vancouver almost 20 years ago. The Jericho Beach hostel is still open. Backpackers are now flashbackers, fancier.
I’ve made a few poppies for Remembrance Day. This year I want to make something different. I haven’t decided what it will be yet. But, it is the 100th year since the end of WWI. That’s something to work with.

I didn’t find more than one betta fish group in Canada when I was fixing up the category at Curlie. But, it inspired me to create a betta fish in ASCII art. We used to have them when I was a kid. They looked so sad (near death) in the pet stores. They didn’t live to an old age in our fish tank but at least they had more fish for company and they looked a lot healthier.… Read the rest
