Making an ASCII art angel is only as tricky as you make it. My problem with them is the image I want to create (in my mind) never seems to work out the way I planned. I’ve never been satisfied with an angel I have created in ASCII art. But, I’m still working on it.

ASCII art candy canes are deceptive. To make the right round shape for the cane takes a little fussing to make it look right and smooth in shape. Then the candy cane stripes. You either create a candy cane on an angle, so you can use straight lines for the stripes. There are lots of Santa Claus and Saint Nicholas pictures done in ASCII art. Christmas time seems to have the biggest collection of such art. I think it’s because this artistic method is so easy to send in an email. Or, it used to be. Small reindeers are not easy to make in ASCII art. I know because I have tried a few times over the years. The sleigh is the easiest part of Santa and his sleigh with the deers flying overhead.
